Canne - Baton - Double Canne in Thiais

Five members of the Academy visited France recently for a special training weekend at the Thiais Canne Club. The weekend was organised by Gilles le Duigou, President of the International Savate Federation, and taught by Philippe Aguesse, Professeur at the Antony and Thiais clubs, to the south of Paris.

We arrived on thursday evening and were met by Marie-Hélène Guenard, who fed us and took us to our hotel. Marie-Hélène and other members of the club looked after us throughout the weekend, driving us between our hotel, various gyms and the Parc de Sceaux, providing picnic lunches and generally being incredibly hospitable!

We had three full days of training with Philippe. In the mornings, we trained in gyms in Thiais. In the afternoons, we trained in the Parc de Sceaux - picnic lunches, lake, trees, grass, even some sunshine!

All five of us had a great time, learnt a lot and would like to thank our hosts for their patience and hospitality!
