A few days before the celebration of its 25th anniversary, March 23rd, the International Savate Federation (FISav) sent a delegation to Lausanne (Switzerland). 

Senior Instructor Julie Gabriel has had two trips to international Savate Events in as many weeks. The first trip was to La Coruna, Spain, where she represented Great Britain in the European Savate Assaut Championships in the 52-56kg category.

cuscs logoThanks mainly to the hard work of Jen and Morgan, the University group has been relaunched with a new name: Cambridge University Savate and Cane Fighting Society. We think this name more accurately reflects what we do. 

Seven members of the Academy took part in a demo at the Cherry Hinton Festival in September. We were lucky that it was a warm and sunny day - although perhaps a little hot for the cannists wearing full protective gear.

The Academy has worked in partnership with the Cambridge City Council Sports Development team for many years, particularly supporting the CitySport programme.  To celebrate the London 2012 Open Weekend, the City Council opened the Corn Exchange to the public, offering a range of free sports and arts taster sessions.
