Morgan Alexander, an Instructor at the Academy, recently competed in the European Savate Assaut Championships, held in Genova, Italy.

Morgan faced determined and experienced opponents in the F-70kg category, and took a well-earned bronze medal.

In Savate Assaut, the objective is to make contact with the opponent, using a variety of kicks and punches, ideally without the opponent scoring against you. Assaut bouts are judged on demonstrating superior technical skills and ability, including scoring points by making contact.

Two other Great Britain athletes took medals this year : James Southwood (London) took silver in the M-80kg category, and George Bushaway came away with a bronze in the M-56kg category.
