Kali and Silat are superb self-defence systems, which will increase your confidence, co-ordination and fitness. South-East Asian martial arts have featured in many films, including “Taken”, “The Raid”, “Merantau” and the “Bourne” series of films. Kali, also known as Eskrima, originated in the Philippines.  Silat is a generic name for the indigenous martial arts of Malaysia and Indonesia.

During this introductory course, you will learn essential skills for self defence drawn from the arts of Kali/Eskrima and Silat, including training Empty Hands & Weaponry (very safe - dummy knives used in training!). This course is designed for adult beginners, and will introduce the skills in a safe and fun environment. Get fit and increase your confidence at the same time!
You must be at least 14 years old to join. A course of 3 lessons costs £18, with a bonus 4th session free of charge. A concessionary fee of £15 is available for full-time students.
