Registration for this event:

If you wish to enter, but you are not a member of a GBSF club, you MUST contact Ollie Batts as soon as possible, and definitely no later than Sunday 18th May for further information. Email Ollie (at) savate.net

Officials:

Clubs entering competitors in this event will be expected to provide officials to assist with judging, refereeing, and time-keeping. This rule DOES apply to foreign competitors. Any qualified officials who come just to officiate (and not compete) and do a reasonable amount of it, will not be charged entry.

Venue:
The Leys Sports Complex
Trumpington Road
Cambridge
CB2 2AD

pdf map and full directions to the Leys

Refreshments:
The Leys Sports Centre has a small number of vending machines for snacks and drinks. You are advised to bring some food and water.

Accommodation:

No accommodation is provided as this is a one day GBSF event. Anyone who needs to stay over, and would like details of B&Bs or hotels should contact Ollie as early as possible. The Youth Hostel is next to the railway station, and less than a mile from the venue - about a 10 minute walk - but does need to be booked well in advance.

The GBSF National Assaut League:
The League has been running since 2006. Its main purpose is to provide opportunities for competition for GB fighters. Competitors from nearby European countries have also entered previous events. To ensure the smooth running of events, it is important that foreign competitors are accompanied by officials to assist in judging and refereeing.

There will be 4 league events this year. Event 1 took place in Oxford on 9th March, and was a great success for the hosts Laura Gilbert & OxfordSavate. Future events:

Event 2 - Sunday 25th May - Cambridge
Event 3 - w/e of 19th/20th July - Guildford
Event 4 - November / December - London

Sunday 1st June - Danny Guba Doce Pares Seminar
